Re: FL9 PS questions

I'll keep that in mind about the alcohol and amnesia, and the tables and wording. Thanks as always for the feedback.

Yep! I've heard that the actual exam is harder than the practice ones but that the curve is more generous so I'll be keeping that in mind while I'm taking it. Thanks for all of your support. :)

Thank you Next Step Tutors/Forum!

I'm taking my test (finally) on Saturday and wanted to thank you all for helping me get where I am now. I know I probably posted a little bit more than most students in the course but talking stuff through has helped me expand my zone of proximal development beyond what I would have imagined I was c...

Couldn't the researchers have non-randomly assigned the participants according to some other variable that wo...

Lesson 7 Problem Solving Cooldown #4

Wouldn't the answer be B? I looked up the delta G values and the hydrolysis of ATP has a delta G of -45 kJ/mol, the hydrolysis of ADP has a delta G of -32, and the hydrolysis of AMP has a delta G of -13. 32-13 = 19 > 43-32 = 11.

FL 2 CP #15

We know from the passage that aromatic side chains absorb at 200 nm, and peptide bonds absorb at about 300 nm. Both the aromatic side chain and the peptide bond are hit by the same photons. Since the peptide bond absorbs at a higher wavelength, by E = hc/lambda, it ought to be absorbing photons of l...

Re: FL 2 PS Questions

Ahaaa, I see. I just didn't read the question carefully. "Projected increase" is definitely not the same as "relative increase." That was just a silly reading error on my part then. B is obviously in that case the only answer choice that makes any sense. Thanks!

FL 2 PS Questions

#6: I couldn't decide between B and C. I chose C for the following reasons: 1) The passage asks about the " projected increase" in the population aged 65 and over, and in 2015 when the new MCAT came out, the people born after WWII (the span of "after" is not defined in the passage, but I assumed it ...
