It could but it could not. When selecting answers on the MCAT make sure to pick the answer choice that directly answers the question being asked. Avoid answer choices that need to be "force-fitted" in some way in order for it to be a correct answer for the question being asked. As mentioned in the answer explanation, the author explicitly states that Socrates dedicated himself to critical analysis of cognition.
