Lesson 7 Error

Post by ase » Thu Jun 27, 2019 3:06 pm

In the opening problem, she says that there are 9 Hydrophobic Amino Acids.

Instead of mentioning Glycine, she says Tryptophan, which is hydroxlyated and clearly hydrophilic and polar.

Tryptophan is actually classified as a non-polar, aromatic amino acid, so it's not a mistake to call it hydrophobic. You might have meant tyrosine? Tyrosine is sometimes classified as hydrophobic and sometimes hydrophilic (it's certainly more hydrophilic than the rest of the hydrophobic amino acids). It is aromatic. Glycine should be included on this list, however. I'll let the content team know that they may want to take a look and update this!

Thanks for the post and good luck!
