is hidden curriculum the same as latent learning?

They are not the same thing, but they certainly could be related. Latent learning refers to learning that happens without any clear reinforcement or punishment. So, theoretically, components of the hidden curriculum could be learned in a latent way, but often the hidden curriculum can be just as sharply reinforced and punished as any other component of the curriculum. So, in that way, the hidden curriculum may be partially learned via latent learning but it may also be learned as a direct result of rewards and punishments.
